 Many fishermen,
women and children travel to Chickasaw County to fish.
After a stop at one of the local bait shops, Nub’s
and Powder Keg in Nashua. Tthere is always room for you
at the best spot of the day. In Nashua, many fish below the dam, either on the shore
or by boat launching at The Cedar River Access in town
or the Pearl Rock Canoe Access 2 miles south of town.
There has been many a trophy walleye or bass caught here.
Chickasaw Park, 2.5 miles west of Ionia has good spots
along the bank of the river or in the old quarry. Airport
Lake in New Hampton has ten acres of possibilities from
the shore or the jetty.
Another stocked lake is at Split Rock County Park in
southeast Chickasaw County. It has ten acres and a jetty
or the shoreline.
